

Hillier, Robert Bertram George – 65 of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully in the Dartmouth General Hospital on February 24, 2016 with his loving family by his side. He was the son of the late Bertram Hillier. Born in Halifax, Robert spent most of his young life and teenage years growing up in his father’s home town of Grand Bank, Newfoundland. He was employed with D.N.D. Dockyards for 29 years as a forklift and crane operator. He was a former long standing member of the Spryfield Lions Club, where he held many offices including President. He attended the Salvation Army Church in Dartmouth where he wore his soldiers uniform with pride. He leaves behind his loving wife; Linda, step-daughter; Connie (Paul) Oliver, granddaughter; Mia, two sisters; Lorraine and Shirley and a brother; Sidney, as well as many friends and family. He will be sadly missed by all. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at 2pm Saturday March 5, in the Salvation Army Community Church, 328 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield, Pastor Andrew Wilson officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
