Rodney Lynn Sutcliffe

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Rodney Lynn Sutcliffe on February 14, 2018, age 59. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Catherine “Cathy” Allena Miller who describes Rod as “her everything”. He was one of eight children of the late Rita and John Sutcliffe. Survived by brothers and sisters, Donna (Daniel Griffith), Shediac, NB; Russell (Joy MacPherson), Kamloops, BC; Gregory (Janet VanVulpen), Dartmouth; David, Dartmouth; Sherrille (Larry MacKeigan), Port Hawkesbury; Susan, Hubley; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother Stuart. He was retired from the Halifax Regional School Board, working 30 years in the maintenance department. He took great pride in his job, loved fixing things and was a great neighbour and friend to many. He loved his cats, Buddy and Emmy, and took great care of these “fur babies”. He loved spending time in Cathy’s childhood home in West Lake Ainslie and going for drives with her. He also loved spending time playing with his great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dr. Barry MacEachern’s Veterinarians Clinic’s Animal Rescue Charities. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 20th from 6-8pm in A. L.
