Roy graduated from Dalhousie University in 1951 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He then entered the accounting profession receiving his CA designation in 1953. He spent his career in the Accounting and Trust Company industry and served on the boards of directors of numerous corporations and charitable organizations.
Roy is survived by sons John (Phyllis) Craig and James (Malcolm) and grandchildren Chris, Alex, Ben, Dylan and Jacqueline, sister Marjorie, several nieces and nephews and his longtime companion, Betty Brown. He was predeceased by his wife, Marion, son Stephen and sister Greta.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
