

Ruth was a homemaker whom excelled in everything she did. She loved to bake, knit, crochet, sew and garden. Ruth especially enjoyed reading and could read four novels a day. Many trips were made throughout her life with her husband Murray, a favourite being Las Vegas. Ruth was a member of St. James United Church where she was involved in the choir and UCW. An avid bowler known to win trophies.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband, John “Murray” Young, her daughter Sharon and son David. Also predeceased by her sisters Jean, Marjorie and Nina and her brothers, Chester, Cecil and Robie.
Ruth is survived by her daughters, Patricia, Marilyn (Tony), and Joan, and her son-in-law Bob Davis (Nancy). She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Beth, Debbie (Mark), John, Cheryl (Bob), Wayne (Gail), Wanda (Mark), Ronnie (Shelly), Pam (Keith), Jason (Lucy), Jarrett (Lori), and Ashley (Jeff).
She is also survived by 13 Great Grandchildren and 8 Great-Great Grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 10th at 11:00am at A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home (217 Portland St., Dartmouth, NS) officiated by Rev. Glenn MacLean. Burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 114 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville.
