

CARLIN (Morgan), Sarah “Sadie” May - Dartmouth, Nova Scotia The family of Sadie Carlin is saddened to announce Sadie’s peaceful passing on August 31, 2022, in the Dartmouth General Hospital. Sadie was born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, on October 9, 1931, to Rev. Horace Morgan and Evelyn (Vincent) Morgan. Sadie graduated from the United Baptist Bible Training School in Moncton, N.B. and Teacher’s College in Fredericton, N.B.. She enjoyed a career as an elementary schoolteacher before embarking on a second career as a mother and grandmother. Sadie promoted life-long learning and took many courses in caregiving ministries, which she utilized in teaching and counselling. She was a member of Steven’s Road United Baptist Church. Sadie loved the outdoors, camping, gardening, cross-country skiing, puzzles, and curling. Sadie enjoyed crafts of all types, particularly crocheting and knitting. Sadie had a big heart and always looked for the best in people and situations. She was a gentle spirit who loved to laugh and enjoy time with family and friends over a good meal. Sadie is survived by her loving husband, Cyril Carlin, and children, Dr. Betty (Paul) Croft of Dartmouth and Dr. Robert (Christopher Paci) Carlin of Montreal. She also leaves two grandchildren of whom she was very proud, Matthew Croft and Sophia Croft. She was predeceased by her brother, John “Jack” Morgan. A celebration-of-life service will be held at Steven’s Road United Baptist Church in Dartmouth, N.S., on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at 3 pm. A reception to follow in the church gym. Burial will be held at a later date in Gray’s Island Cemetery, Hillsborough, N.B.. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Steven’s Road Memorial fund or Crandall University.
