Shirley was a devoted Wife, Mother, Aunt and Grandmother. Shirley would never miss a day visiting Ed and Michael at the Columbarium. She always looked forward to her daily calls from her nephew John and Cathy. Shirley enjoyed her weekend family dinners, playing cards and she sure loved to win. She never missed an 8:15 phone call from RuthAnn. Every Wednesday was shared with RuthAnn going to all their stores and then to lunch where they were regulars at Swiss Chalet or Subway.
Shirley loved her cat Cleo who was the biggest blessing after Ed’s passing. Cleo is missing mom but is happy and comfortable in her new home with RuthAnn along with Theo, Ella and Nova who loved their Gram. Shirley enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and all the laughs and adventures that came with it, as well as the countless playground trips and ice cream dates she had with her great grandchildren; Levi and Liam, whom both would describe their great gramma as their best friend. She very much enjoyed her dinners from Kim & Michael every Saturday. Shirley spent her 88th birthday with a week full of celebrations surrounded by her loving family. She went bowling and beat everyone, she also enjoyed hoping on the motorcycle in the Arcade. Shirley led a very active life and loved to curl, ski, sail, camp as well as playing several sports from basketball to swimming and her weekly Yoga sessions.
She was a former member of the Shearwater Yacht Club, Dartmouth Curling Club, Masonic Eastern Star and the Red Hatters of Dartmouth. She was the life of the party and there are several stories of her antics at bon-spiels and bowling championships in her younger years. Sailing was a shared passion, and she led the fleet when it came to the ladies skipper races at SYC and loved working with Patricia and others as a member of the Race Committee. She was a great friend to all and will be truly missed by everyone who’s lives she touched. She will also be missed by her lifelong best friend Adelaide, she loved and looked forward to their funny cards back and forth, all their phone calls and telling all their stories they had since the day they crossed paths.
Mom/ Gramma, you will be forever missed. Until we meet again. We Love You.
