

Slade, Thelma Frances – 94, of Dartmouth, NS, passed away on January 31, 2013, at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Dear family and friends, the time I have spent on this earth has been glorious and fruitful. Don’t cry, God has been good to me. I am in His arms with Anthony my husband, family and friends that have gone before me. I am at peace. I was a member of the Eastern Star , Hon. Joseph Howe #20, receiving my 50th year jewel pin. I was a member of the First Baptist Church, Dartmouth, NS for more than 65 years. I was born on January 23, 1919, Thelma Frances Baker, the daughter of the late Mildred Richardson and Walter Baker. I met the love of my life, and married, Anthony William Slade. Born to us was a wonderful son, William Anthony Jr. Then joining our family, daughter-in-law Heather Evangeline DeRoache. Living members are half sisters, Marie (Douglas Logie), Victoria, BC, Edith Baker (Late Lester Baker), East Jeddore, sister-in-law, Stella (late Murray Baker), Ontario, Barbara (late John Baker), formally of West Jeddore. Many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.
Family who have gone to be with God, sister Gladys (late John Kent), brothers Ralph (late Sibina Baker), Charles and Douglas, half brothers Murray, John and Donald. Step sisters Iva Bezanson, Odie Burgwin and Elsie Baker. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8pm Wednesday, February 6, 2013, in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth, NS. Private family burial in the spring at Brookside Cemetery, Shubanacadie, NS. It is requested that if you wish to have flowers sent, that they be artificial, so that they could be saved and placed on the gravesite in the spring, or make a donation to your favorite charity, Church, or Food Bank. I want to thank you all, for the gifts, phone calls, and your friendship over the years. The time has come to say “good-bye”, for now. I love you all dearly.
