Warren Edward Sheppard

SHEPPARD, Warren Edward Sr., - passed away December 30, 2017 in Halifax. Born March 09, 1929, at Birchtown Guysborough County, he was the son of the late Johnny and Elizabeth (Jackson) Sheppard. He was the last remaining member of his family and the last remaining member of his community of Birchtown Guysborough County. He worked in the Forest Industry for most of his life and operated a small personal farm based on his love of animals, especially horses. He is survived by sons Raymond (Bev) Sheppard, Dartmouth, David Sheppard, Halifax, William Joseph Jackson, Dartmouth and daughters Florence Sheppard of Dartmouth and Annette Gero of Hay River NWT, Nephew/Brother George Jackson and stepson James H. Ashe (Donna) of Lincolnville NS. He is also survived by his stepchildren by his second wife Roberta (Owen) Penney, Glen Field, Billy Penney also surviving him are 18 grandchildren and twenty five great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, he is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife Florence Hazel (Ashe) Sheppard and second wife Josephine (Penny) Sheppard, son Warren Edward Sheppard, Jr. aka Eddie and brothers George Sheppard and Freeman Izzard, and sisters May Sheppard-Murray, Arlene Jackson, Elizabeth Jackson and step daughter Eunice Viola (Ashe) Clarke. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, January 6, 2018 in Bethel United Baptist Church. Rev. Vance Arbeau and Rev. Elaine Walcott officiating.
