

79, born August 15, 1937, son of Albert Vernard and Bessie Marion (Hilton) Wright, of Dartmouth passed away October 28th, 2016 at Saint Vincent’s Nursing Home with family at his side. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Shirley; sons Gary (Kimberly), Halifax; Stephen (Bruce), Toronto; Richard, Hunter River; Gregory, Dartmouth; grandchildren Lindsay, Stephen, Chelsey and Ashley; sisters Jean (Ernie) Cleary, Barbara Teague, Sharon (Vern) Beddes, Linda (John) Cournoyer, Brenda (Stan) Doherty; brother Blaine and numerous nieces and nephews. Warren was predeceased by brothers Vernard and Murray, and sister Joan. Warren had a long and varied work history starting with his first job in the late 50’s at Guilford & Co., to T.P. Caulkin, H.A. Loomer and John Wood Ltd. Warren was employed sixteen years by this Toronto based commercial water heater company and was promoted to District Manager. He then worked for the Dartmouth Marine Shipyard for 12 years and retired after driving for Bob’s/Bluebell Taxi Co for 8 years. Warren was a people person, fun loving, generous, always willing to lend a helping hand. Warren was involved in promoting local sports in the community that included hockey and baseball. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and a game or two of golf. Even while battling his recent illness, he continued to make his family and the staff of Saint Vincent Nursing Home laugh with a little joke and a smile. The family wish to thank the staff of SVNH for the compassionate care provided for Warren over the past few months. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, November 3rd 1-3 pm at the Somme Branch 31 Legion and from 4-6 pm at the Buffalo Club, 2 Wentworth St., Dartmouth. Donations in memory of Warren can be made to Saint Vincent’s Nursing Home for the music therapy program. No flowers by family request.
