Alan Kurt Porter

Alan K. Porter, 51, of Long Grove passed away Monday, June 11, 2012 in Rock Island, IL. Services will be held 11:30AM Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the Runge Mortuary. Alan was born August 1, 1960 in Des Moines, Iowa the son of Fredrick and Janet (Glowiki) Porter.

He was a journeyman carpenter by trade for the last 30 years.

Alan took great pride in the amount of time he spent in his son’s life. He coached him in sports. They enjoyed many outdoor activities together; fishing, bike riding, and boating. They also enjoyed cooking together. Alan taught Jon many of life’s lessons.

He was a great storyteller who loved to share his stories and his very unique laugh.
