Albion L. “Albie” Holst, 80, of Bettendorf passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Genesis West. Services honoring his life will be held Sunday, March 17, 2013 1:00 p.m. at The Runge Mortuary, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island.

Albie was born September 22, 1932 in Davenport, Iowa the son of Roy and Ruth (Fowler) Holst. He married Irene Frahm in 1968.
Albie was a cab driver for many years in the Quad Cities.
He liked to read, and loved classical music. He would attend the Quad City Symphony concerts whenever he could. Albie passed his love of music and learning to his children.
He enjoyed visiting with his children and grandchildren.
Those left to honor his memory: daughters, Julia (Andy) Kanakares Coralville, IA, Sharon Holst, Davenport; son, William (Tracy) Owens-Holst, Iowa City; and a brother, David Holst, Moline; grandchildren, Gabriel, Xavier, Xander, Xion, Clare, Ephrem, Nicholas.
