

Dr. Alfred Jenness, 87, of Donahue, passed away May 10, 2012, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday May 15, 2012 at Runge Mortuary. Burial will take place at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery in Davenport. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.rungemortuary.com. Alfred was born May 25, 1924, in Willow Township, the son of Arthur and Esther (Smith) Jenness. He later married Barbara Peters on February 18, 1961 in Moline, IL. She preceded him in death in 1991. Alfred worked as a chiropractor, graduating from Palmer College. He is also a lifetime member of: The American Legion Post 0188, The Iowa Falls Moose, and the Mississippi Valley Country and Western Music Association; of which he was a cofounder. Alfred is also a member of the CMA Country Music Association, and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, TN in 1968. Survivors include: daughters Michelle Jenness and Janice Jenness-Cope, sons Ed Jenness and Alfred Jr; brothers, Miron and LeRoy Jenness; sisters Alta May Bauman and Alma Hendrickson. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Barbara.
