Andrew & Rose Spies

Andrew and Rose Marie Spies will be laid to rest in a private graveside family gathering. Rose Marie was born February 18, 1925, daughter of Herbert and Marie (Tetzner) Wiese of Dixon. She married Andrew on August 16, 1944. She was a homemaker most of her adult life. She died September 1, 2012. Andrew was born March 26, 1922, son of Andrew and Ida (Rissman) Spies of New Liberty. He and Rose Marie farmed near Dixon and later by New Liberty. Andrew died January 7 at home.They are survived by Andrew’s brother, Ralph Spies, Tipton; Rose Marie’s sister, Jeraldine Danielsen, Marshalltown; their children Betty Rock, Maysville, Barbara (Jerry) Farmer, Wheatland; Beverly (Ben) Johnson, Williamsfield, IL; Donna, Davenport; Herbert (Sue), Atalissa; Susan, Davenport; Shirley (Bob), Boulder, CO; Jerald (Joan), Wheatland; Debra (Gary) Clark, Wheatland; Linda Mason, Davenport; 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
