

Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Thursday, April 17, at the Runge Mortuary. A graveside service will be held Friday April 18 at 10am at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. The family asks that folks attending the graveside service gather at the mortuary at 9:15 for the procession to the cemetery. She will be laid to rest next to her husband of 65 years, Gary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Anne’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.
Anne was born on September 13,1941, in Rendsburg Germany to Adolf and Freida (Behrendsen) Rohwer. In 1953, fulfilling her mother’s desire for a brighter future for her children, Anne, along with her older brother Gunther and younger brother Peter, journeyed to America. After settling in Lost Nation, Iowa, Anne’s mother Freida and younger sister, Erica traveled to join them. On October 10, 1959, she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Gary McDaniel in Milan Illinois.
Anne enjoyed warm weather, springtime flowers, fresh garden vegetables, Happy Joes taco pizza, Pepsi, Lake of the Ozarks and spending time with her grandsons. Most importantly, it was all made sweeter with her husband Gary by her side. Anne valued her privacy, hard work, the mentality of family first and the ability to work through adversity.
She is survived by her children, Michael McDaniel and Kimberly (Jim) Morrissey; grandsons, Parker James, Connor Michael; brother, Peter Rohwer; sister, Erica (Ron) Grover and countless nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and brother, Gunther Rohwer.
