Annie Mary Flatman, of Davenport, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Genesis East Medical Center. True to her nickname, “88 Annie” she was 88 years of age. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 2 pm at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Thursday October 11, 2018 from 5-8 pm at the mortuary, with a prayer service at 8pm. Her final resting place will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Annie was born October 16, 1929 in DuPree, SD; the loving daughter of John J. and Rosella (Hager) Ehli. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Clarence J Flatman on October 8, 1947 in Rapid City, SD; he has been waiting for her in Heaven since April 2, 2000. Annie worked for the Quad City Times for 39 years, starting in the mail room and most recently worked in the advertising department. She then went to work for the Brandt Company until the ripe old age of 80. Annie LOVED her family, she took care of everyone she knew. She was a faithful follower of Jesus and was a regular attender of Holy Family Catholic Church. Her life verse was Matthew 16:26, “What does it profit a man to gain the whole world but forfeit his soul,” she truly lived this out each day by giving of what she had to others and living a selfless life. Annie had a talent and passion for crochet work and taught herself at a young age to make all sorts of wonderful gifts that she has shared with countless people. Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Annie (Robert) Bracamonte, Tucson, AZ; Clarence “John” Flatman, Jr., and wife Sue, Toulon, IL and Francis Flatman, Davenport; nine grandchildrem; 26 great grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Bringman, Sioux Falls, SD and Caroline Rouix, Baker City, OR and countless dear nieces and nephews.. She was preceded in death by her husband and just about everyone else she knew!
