Barbara Ann Coons, 75, of Davenport Iowa passed away on December 29, 2025. A celebration of life is planned at a later date. She will be laid to rest at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.rungemortuary.com.
Barbara was born on October 22, 1950, in Malcolm Iowa to Harold and Opal (Braden) Van Winkle. She was united in marriage to Ron Coons for 21 years. She retired in 2018 after 45 years of service as an administrative assistant for both Genesis Health and Christiana Care. Barbara loved reading, scrapbooking, country line dancing, motorcycle riding, but she loved spending time with her family most of all. She was an avid animal lover and dog-mom to Gus and Ruby Sue.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Ron; son, Erik Finch, Chris (Rusty) Coleman-Finch, Jason Tutor; 2 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gary Van Winkle, Mike Van Winkle; special daughters, Roslind, Tiesha and Nichol.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.
