Barbara A Laing

Barbara Ann Laing, 76, of Davenport passed away on September 25, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at First Assembly of God Church, Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM, Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at the Runge Mortuary. Burial will be at Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport, IA. Memorials may be made to the family. Barbara Ann Richards was born on January 2, 1940 to Delbert and Jane (Bonham) Richards in Princeton, Indiana. Siblings include, Diedra Richards, William Greg (Connie), Joseph (Ruby), Kim (Diane), and Steve Richards. She did clerical work for Auto Parts Company, Lujacks and retired from Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center in 2008. She enjoyed singing in the choir at Bettendorf Nazarene and later Bettendorf First Assembly of God Church where she was very active.

Also she enjoyed going on Mission MAPS Trips, lighthouses, cats, puzzles, traveling and staying at Bed and Breakfasts. Time with her family was very precious and they meant the world to her. In 1970 she was united in marriage to Ronald Woodruff, who passed away in 1982. They had a daughter, Kelly Haynes and two grandchildren, Paige and Drake, also two stepchildren, Mark (Theresa) Woodruff, three children: Derek, Samantha and Alexis, two great grandchildren, and Beckie (Jay) Wilson and two grandchildren, Arielle and Dakota; one great grandchild.

In 1989 she married Ralph “Peter” Laing with five stepchildren, Teresa (Don) Laing-Ware, Roger Laing, Todd (Kelly) Laing, Ralph Laing, Karyn (Mike) Walters and 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Barb was preceded in death by her sisters Catherine, Lee Etta and brothers Delbert (Danny), Phillip and parents.
