Beth Anne Lewis

Beth Anne Lewis, 51, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 5, 2014, at home with her sister by her side. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 10, 2014, at 11:00 am at Westside Assembly of God Church in Davenport. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the family or the church. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com. Beth was born December 30, 1962 in Davenport where she resided with her sister. She lived with Down’s Syndrome and led a full, happy life. She never met a stranger and showered everyone with pure, unconditional love, in return she often received the same. Beth spent her days in her home listening to K-Love Christian Radio, watching tv, working on her word books and perhaps her favorite pastime, telling us all what to do and where to sit. She looked forward to Sundays so she could attend church and was a faithful member of Westside Assembly of God Church for over 35 years. She rarely missed a Sunday and you could always find her in the same seat week after week, surrounded by her loving church family. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Evan Lewis, mother, Betty Scharfenburg-Lewis and an older brother, Carl Lewis.

Beth leaves behind her loving sister and best friend, Sharon Kay Zude, Davenport, sister, Rev. Juanita Scriven, Urbandale, IA; brother, Gregory (Becky) Lewis, Noblesville, IN; cousins Lloyd and Momma Mary Bognar, Davenport; Shirley VanRyan, Moline, IL; aunt, Ruth (Tommie) Minnick, Davenport; favorite caregivers and adopted family, Blythe and Sadie (Bob); as well as her favorite “nurse” and adopted nephew, Jeremiah Gerlach. She also leaves behind her beloved church family and countless number of friends.
