

Betty Jane Foster, 90, of Davenport, died Friday, November 9, 2012 in Davenport. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Davenport. Visitation will be 3 – 8pm Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Runge Mortuary 838 East Kimberly Road, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church

Betty was born March 4, 1922 at Mercy Hospital in Davenport, the daughter of Charles and Eleanor (Niekamp) Brady. She graduated from Davenport High School in the Class of 1940 and later from A.I.C. Business College. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church for 65 years.
She married Neal Foster, Sr. on December 19, 1941 in Davenport; he preceded her in death on August 22, 1987. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lorelei (Foster) Mosher in January 2010; brothers: Virgil and Charles “Chuck” Brady and sisters: Marion Kuendle, and Verna Powers.
Those left to honor her memory include: son, Neal ‘Skip’ Foster, Jr., daughter – in - law-Tammy Foster, Eagan, MN and son – in – law William (Bill) Mosher; grandchildren: Julia Temple, Darsey Dearborn and Stephanie (Mike) Bell all of Davenport; Shawn (Leslie) Foster, Cottage Grove, MN; Christopher (Jesslyn) Foster, Roseville MN, and Jason Mosher, Eagan, MN; eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Her first year of marriage she did volunteer work. She was a Cub Scout Leader – Hayes School, baseball coach. She served as President of Hayes P.T.A., St Mark Lutheran Women; Church Women United and the Maya Winther Circle of King’s Daughters. Her other memberships include: Daughters of the Nile, Pyramid Temple # 10 and the Elks Widows.
In 1976 she and her daughter Lorelei started the Business of B & L Custom Draperies and were in engaged in it for 30 years, “loving every minute of it.”
Her favorite passions were her grandchildren, decorating, entertaining, shopping, and bridge.
