Betty J. Johannsen

Betty J. Johannsen, 87, of Davenport died Friday, March 31, 2017 at Davenport Good Samaritan Center. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Tuesday, April 4, 2017 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Monday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. Betty was born September 24, 1929 in East Moline, a daughter of Remi and Mary (Groothaert) Dobbels. She was united in marriage to Raymond Johannsen on November 19, 1955 in Davenport. Betty worked for Davenport Community School District for 19 years, retiring in 1992. She enjoyed being an avid mall walker and volunteering at the Festival of Trees. She loved flower gardening and keeping her yard immaculate. Those left to cherish her memory include: son, Karl (Lisa) Johannsen, Davenport; daughters Kim Felske, Davenport and Karen Schneider, LaVista, NE; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. Her husband, Raymond, her parents, sisters Mary and Marion, brothers Elmer, Robert, Rene and Raymond, granddaughters Elizabeth Cox and Kelsey Burmeister and son-in-law Andrew Felske preceded her in death.
