Betty Jane Saldana

Betty J. Saldana, 86, of Davenport passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be 11:30AM Monday September 17, 2012 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is 3-6 PM Sunday September 16, 2012 at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to the family. On line condolences may be made at www.rungemortuary.com. Betty was born June 21, 1926 in Exline, IA to John & Dorothy (Tyser) Lynn. She was united in marriage to Edward Saldana in 1947 in Rock Island, IL. He preceded her in death on June 17, 1988. Earlier in life Betty worked at the Model Laundry & Cleaners and later at the Burke Cleaners on west 3rd Street Davenport. Betty had been received into the Catholic faith at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport. One of her favorite passions was the wildlife she cared for in her back yard. She was also a loving mother and grandmother who was deeply devoted to her family. Survivors include 2 daughters Helen “Tina” Daufeldt, Davenport and Candace “Candy” (Mark) Green, Placitas, NM; 2 sons Edward L. “Bim” (Debra) Saldana and Edward L. “Jr.” (Michele) Saldana, Davenport; Step children Dawn Schwearing, Cassie Lovett, Juan Saldana, John Weldy, & Lora Hayde; grandchildren Kathleen (John) Carlton, Christina ( Christopher) Liagre, James (Erin) Saldana, Christopher (Jenn) Saldana, Jessica (Carlos) Solorzano, Jennifer Perez, Edward (Britney) Saldana III, John Saldana, Heather Saldana, Travis (Michelle) Saldana, Nichole Gimm, Becca Gimm, Ryan Gimm, and Alec Gimm; 15 great grandchildren; loving sister in law Loretta Kelley, Davenport; a special close friends, Pam Miller and Karen Graziosa; numerous nieces & nephews; and her pet bird Cody. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 sisters, and a brother John “Bud” Lynn.
