Billy H. Mangels

Billy H. Mangels, 81, of Eldridge passed away Thursday, October 6, 2016. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 14, 2016 at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Burial will be in Maysville Cemetery, Maysville, IA. Memorials may be made to the family.

He was born June 25, 1935 the son of Herbert John and Norma (Stoltenberg) Mangels. Billy was united in marriage to Mary “Betty” on June 7, 1958 in South Boulder, CO. He worked at French and Hecht in Walcott for 30 years. He was formerly in a bowling league. Billy took great pride in his farm where he raised sheep and pigs. He enjoyed trail rides with his horse, Salty and giving tractor rides to his grandchildren. Billy adored his family and cherished his time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Those left to honor is memory include his loving wife of 58 years, Mary “Betty” Machin; children: Michael (Suellyn) Mangels, Sandy (Rick) Kloppenborg, Karen (Wayne Basting) Mangels, Brian Mangels, Tammy (Steve McNair) Noack, Billy (Kristy) Mangels and David (Marilyn Salter) Mangels; seventeen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren with one on the way in January and brother, Jim (Thelma) Mangels.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Arlene, grandchildren, Amy and Alysa Mangels and great grandson Chase Kloppenborg.
