Bobby Lee Thomas was born May 23, 1939, the son of Garline Crews and Sherman Thomas in Fulton, MO. He transitioned from earth to eternity on August 4, 2022.
Bobby moved to Davenport, Iowa, in 1951. He attended school at Jefferson, Taylor Elementary and Central High. Bobby entered the workforce in 1957 starting at Brune Motors Garage and later married Vercella Bassett. He worked at International Harvester/Farmall Works in Rock Island for 28 years and later relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana, worked 2 ½ more years at the Truck Engine Plant, and then retired. He went to work at Pinnacle Stanrick Corporation for ten years and retired from there with a perfect attendance record.
Bobby’s work ethic was exceptional! He was an all-around “handyman.” He worked on cars, had his own lawn care business, and seemed like he could repair just about anything. He was an avid bowler and would travel to many cities for bowling tournaments. He enjoyed softball, watching Western shows, and would play the guitar on occasion. He also enjoyed wearing his hats and cowboy boots! Bobby was a firm believer in working for a living. He was very time conscious. You could depend on him to be wherever he needed to be at least 15 minutes early.
Bobby was baptized at Pentecostal Church of God, Davenport, Iowa, on Dec 8, 1997, and was filled with the Holy Ghost under the leadership of Bishop McArthur Anderson, former Pastor. He was on the board of trustees, a deacon, and was the church maintenance man there for many years. He later was also a deacon under his son’s pastorship at Place of Refuge Ministries, Davenport, Iowa.
He is survived by his children; Linda (Ken) Cunningham, Davenport, Iowa; Betty (Tink) Thomas, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Tom (Stephanie) Thomas and Sandra Thomas, both of Davenport, IA and Shannon (Lee) Anderson, Lakeland, Florida, brothers; Harold Thomas, Des Moines, Iowa, Larry Thomas, Davenport, Iowa, Rick Smith, Madison, Wisconsin, a host of grand, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, a great-grandchild, and sisters, Nellie Roberts and Sherlene Collins, both of Davenport.

“TO GOD BE THE GLORY”
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off,
even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save
yourselves from this untoward generation.
Acts 2:39-40
