Bonnie C. Bishop

Bonnie C. Bishop, 88, of Muscatine, formerly of Oakland, IA, died Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the Lutheran Homes in Muscatine. Per her request, cremation rites were accorded. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 7, 2011 at 10:30 am at the Macedonia Methodist HCurch in Macedonia, IA. Online condolences may be left at www.therungemortuary.com. Bonnie was born March 4, 1923 in Silver City, IA; the daughter of Leon and Dora (Enewold) Clayton. She was united in marriage to Richard A. Bishop on August 31, 1944 in Macedonia, IA, he preceded her in death on August 23, 2010.

Bonnie was a loving homemaker and in her earlier years, enjoyed traveling with her husband. She was a member of the Macedonia Methodist Church where she belonged to the quilting group and was also a member of the Rock Island Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W.

Those left to honor her memory include her children: Allen Bishop (Jeanette), Chadwick, MO; Dave (Colette) Bishop, Muscatine, IA; Lynn Bishop, Oakland, IA and Amylyn Bishop, Shelby, IA; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and a brother, Kermit (Virginia) Clayton, Omaha, NE. Her parents and a daughter, Lynda (2001) preceded her in death.
