Carl H. Albers

Cremation will be done with the family greeting friends 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory Davenport, Iowa. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2026, in the Runge Chapel. Burial will be later in Davenport Memorial Park. Carl was born on October 11, 1938 in Davenport, Iowa to John and Anna (Danielsen) Albers. He served in the US Army and the Army reserve from 1958- 1964. On October 31, 1964 he was united in marriage to his wife of 61 years, Sandra Mattusch.

Carl was a Carpenter by trade and was a general contractor and owner of John H. Albers & Sons for many years before stepping down. He worked at several other construction jobs until final retirement in 2000.

Carl was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and was a charter member of QC Bass Club and participated in many local bass fishing tournaments. Carl enjoyed the outdoors hunting, camping, his animals and especially fishing. Family has always been his pride and joy whether coaching his children in earlier years or spending time with the grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra J. Albers, Eldridge, Iowa; daughters, Tracy Albers, Eldridge, Iowa and Amy (Dean) Braack, Eldridge, Iowa; sons, Tim (Andrea) Albers, Lebanon, Ind. and Brad Albers, Eldridge, Iowa; grandchildren, Drew (Rachel) Albers, Lebanon, Ind., Mitchell (Breianna) Braack, Eldridge, Iowa, Emily (Ross) Yoho, Brownsburg, Ind., Chase Braack, Davenport, Iowa, Jordanne Twigg, Eldridge, Iowa; and great-grandchildren, Easton Yoho, Brownsburg, Ind., Winnie Yoho, Brownsburg, Ind., Mia Braack, Eldridge, Iowa, Valerie Braack, Eldridge, Iowa, Addison Albers, Lebanon, Ind.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law, Mary Ann Mattusch; brother and sister-in-law, John and Sally Albers; brother-in-law, Allan Bearbower; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Herb and Joyce Mattusch.
