Carolyn E. Mason

Funeral services for Carolyn E. Mason, 78, of Bettendorf will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary chapel in Davenport. The family will greet friends from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. on Friday evening. Interment will be at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Moline, IL. Mrs. Mason passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House surrounded by her family. Carolyn Elsie Watson was born on March 7, 1937 in Moline, the daughter of Lloyd and Henrietta (Birkhahn) Watson. She was a graduate of East Moline High School. On November 3, 1956, she married David E. Mason in Silvis. Carolyn was a dedicated wife and loving mother of five children. She was an active member of many organizations including: Riverview Free Will Baptist Church, Mohassan Caldron, Social Order of the Beauceant, Daughters of the Nile, Order of the Eastern Star Davenport Chapter 178, Order of the Amaranth, and a charter member of the Family Museum. She is survived by her Husband: David Mason of Bettendorf; four Daughters: Annette Ealy of Silvis, IL, Pam Serrano of Bettendorf, Judy Nichols of Moline, Sandy (Steve) Phillips of Hamilton, AL; a Son: Mike Mason of Moline; Sister: Frances (Matthew) Moon of Rock Island, IL; 15 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a Sister: Patricia Carlson; Grandson: Christopher Rockwell; and Son-in-Law: Ralph Nichols.
