Private funeral services for Catherine M. Dick, 93, a lifelong resident of Davenport, were held at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery on Monday, May 9, 2011. Mrs. Dick died on Friday, May 6, 2011 in Davenport. Cunnick-Collins mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.Catherine Marie Wieck was born on April 26, 1918 in Davenport. She was a graduate of Davenport High School where she received her secretarial training. In May of 1941 she married Leonard M. Dick in Davenport. He preceded her in death in July of 2001.Mrs. Dick was a loving wife and mother. She was a creative homemaker who enjoyed decorating and entertaining in her home. Her dinner rolls were famous in the neighborhood. She played the organ and wrote poetry which she shared on special occasions with family and friends. She was a compassionate person, always available with a listening ear. Survivors include daughters Diane (Edward) Leach of Tucson, AZ, Donna Finley of Davenport, son Dean (Joan) Dick of Bettendorf, granddaughters Claire, Ann, and five great grandchildren. Mrs. Dick is also survived by her sister Betty (Kenneth) Meewes of Davenport and a niece and several nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard and her son-in-Law Paul Finley.
