Charles B. Walte

Charles B. Walte, 91, of Bettendorf, Iowa passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Clarissa C Cook Hospice House. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 from 1-2 pm at Weerts Funeral Home. Funeral service will be private. Memorials in Charles’ name may be made to the family so they can do a special memorial to the Clarissa C Cook Hospice House.

Charles was born on May 22, 1929 to Charles and Margaret Walte in New York, New York. Following his high school graduation, Charles joined the United States Army. After he left the Army, Charles went to work for American Airlines LaGuardia Airport as a mechanic scheduler and retired after 36.5 years. After retirement, he moved to Bettendorf Iowa to be with his family. Charles loved to watch his grandchildren play all of their various sports. He loved watching the New York Mets and his 5:30pm News on TV. In his younger years, Charles loved to go fishing. Charles was a true New Yorker through and through and was very proud of being from New York.

Those left to honor is memory are his daughters Kathy Lopez and Lori Weaver; grandchildren: Nickolas (Aimee), Lucas (Lexi), Brianna, Alina, and Michael; great-grandchildren Izaya, Izak, Cayden, Hadley, Hudsyn, and Lilyanna; and his sister Anne Becker.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Margaret.
