

Charlie E. Thornburg, 85, of Davenport, went to be with the Lord Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Trinity Pathway Hospice in Bettendorf. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Wednesday, January 11, 2012 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at the mortuary. Mr. Thornburg was born on April 30, 1926 in Fallbranch, TN, the son of Edgar and Virgie (Arnold) Thornburg.
Charlie was a truck driver for Teamsters and retired in 1979. He was the Founder and Pastor of Faith Gospel Church and enjoyed collecting guitars, antiques, collectables, and coins.
Celebrating his life are daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis (Carroll) Smith, Chuckey, TN, Sissy (John) Croxton, Davenport, and Deedee (Chuck) Croxton, Davenport; sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck (Penny) Thornburg, Davenport, Denny (Carolyn) Thornburg, Low Moor, IA, Mark Thornburg, Davenport, Daniel (Kay) Thornburg, Davenport, and Tim (Chris) Thornburg, DeWitt; brothers, Lelbert (Jo) Thornburg, Gray, TN and Chet (Maxine) Thornburg, Afton, TN; sisters, Fonda (Bud) Evans , Chuckey, TN and Shirley Good, Gray, TN; 36 grandchildren; 55 great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Leonard and Tom; and four sisters, Isabelle, Charlotte, Reba and Theresa.
