Daniel was born to Camiel Lyphout and Irene (Lootens) Lyphout on January 4th, 1938. Dan was united in marriage to Bonnie (Bruckman) Lyphout on October 9th 1965, in Rock Island, Illinois. Together they had three beautiful children.
Daniel graduated from Alleman High School class of 1955 and was proud to carry on as a class reunion treasurer until 2021. He graduated from St Ambrose University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, and went to work at Bendix, Davenport Iowa until 1982.
Dan then accepted a position at the Don E. Williams Company as an Accountant and worked there for the remainder of his career, retiring in the position of Controller.
Dan was a respected and sought out income tax preparer. He would have appointments lined up from January thru April and his clients would get his full attention at the dining room table, his office away from the office!
Upon retiring Dan enjoyed many activities including golf, volunteering as a SCORE counselor, crossword puzzles, watching or listening to the Cubs broadcasts while smoking a cigar, and watching old westerns. He was devoted to St Paul the Apostle church where he was always seen at the Saturday evening mass and then out to dinner with the priest and several friends.
Daniel is survived by his children; Angela (Lyphout) Foust Atlanta, GA, Mark Lyphout, Monterrey, Mexico, Matthew Lyphout, Davenport, IA and grandchildren: KC Lyphout, CJ Lyphout and Joshua Lyphout.
Daniel was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie, and his parents.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 4-7pm. at The Runge Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 2pm at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Davenport, Iowa.
