Daniel Lee Westercamp

Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, November 27, at Asbury United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.

Daniel was born October 11, 1954 to Fred Albert and Marie (Helm) Westercamp in Keosauqua, IA. On October 5, 1974, Dan married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Jan Sapp. In 1973 he graduated from VanBuren Community School before receiving his BS from Scott Community College and then his DC from Palmer Chiropractor College in 1994. He worked as a chiropractor and farmer, along with working at Everco Industries, HON, Case, and John Deere. He also spent 2 years working in Iraq refueling military aircraft before retiring from Arconic in October, 2020.

Daniel was a hardworking man who enjoyed working the land. He loved reading. He loved his dogs and wintering on the beach in Alabama. Daniel was a longtime member of Asbury United Methodist Church.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Jan Westercamp; son, Clayton (Natalie) Westercamp; daughter, Hallie Westercamp; cherished grandchildren, Ayden and Connor Westercamp, Maddison Thornton, Taylor and Rowdy Loflin; siblings, Tessie Lane, and Minette (Dwynlin) Giberson; sisters-in-law, Beverly Westercamp and Jill Hopp; brothers-in-law, Fred Hickenbottom, Richard Maxwell, and Jack Sapp; along with 10 nieces, 6 nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Honor Loy Hickenbottom and Shirley Maxwell; brother, Ralph Westercamp; sister-in-law, Josephine Sapp; brothers-in-law, Beryl Lane and Bruce Hopp; nephew, Brian Giberson; and niece, Denise Wells.
