

Darlene M. Paper, 83, of Davenport, passed away November 11, 2011 at Good Samaritan. Services will be held at 11: 30 AM Wednesday November 16, 2011, at Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be held two hours prior to service, with burial at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials can be made to Westside Assembly of God. Online condolences can be made at www.rungemortuary.com.
Darlene was born September 14, 1928 in Long Grove, IA, the daughter of Camiel and Alice (DeWulf) Goethals. She married Robert E. Paper on September 23, 1950. She had worked as a program analyst for ARMCOM on Rock Island Arsenal and she retired in 1989 after 34 years.
Darlene had many interests, a few of which were yard work, politics, an avid bridge player, and played music by ear. She had an insatiable desire to learn and loved the Lord Jesus Christ. Darlene also loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Darlene graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy in 1947, and took classes equating to two years college.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Laurey Love-Renshaw and Roger Renshaw, two grandchildren, Charles E. Love IV and Stephanie D. Love all of Gloucester, VA. Sisters: Elsie Peters, Clinton, IA and Jane Remley, Davenport IA. Brothers include Walter R. Goethals, Davenport IA and George Goethals, Long Grove IA.
She was preceeded in death by her parents Camiel and Alice Goethals, sister Virginia M. (Vogt) Connelly, brother in laws: William Remley, Orville Peters, Gaylen Vogt, and two nephews Steven Remley and Terry Peters.
