David Charles Wellmeier

David was born on March 26, 1960, to Kenneth and Margaret Wellmeier. He married the love of his life, Sherri, on September 22, 1984, and together they built a life centered around faith, family, and hard work.

David dedicated many years to his career, working at Ossian Chemical for 32 years before retiring from Alcoa in April after 15 years of service. He was known for his strong work ethic, loyalty, and dedication.

Above all else, David was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed playing in a pool league, deer hunting, pitching horseshoes, and sitting by the bonfire playing his harmonica. Some of his greatest joys came from spending time with his grandchildren and taking them for rides on the quad, creating memories they will cherish forever.

David is survived by his loving wife, Sherri Wellmeier; his sons, Donnie Wellmeier of Newton, Iowa, and Daniel (Kelley) Wellmeier of Blue Grass, Iowa; and his beloved grandchildren, Charlee and Dash. He is also survived by his siblings, Laura (George) Moench of LeClaire, Iowa; Michael (Julie) Wellmeier of Davenport, Iowa; Kathy (Richard) Fee of Blue Grass, Iowa; and Sue (Brian) Dahl of Davenport, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Margaret Wellmeier, and his siblings, Thomas, Sharon, and Judy.

David will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his family finds comfort in knowing he is now at peace in the arms of the Lord.
