Deirdra “Deedee” D. Vandivier, 55, of Davenport passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 12, 2017 during her dream vacation in Cancun, Mexico with several of her closest friends and family. Funeral services will be at 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 21, 2017 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Pine Hill. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kings Harvest Animal Shelter or the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. Deedee lit up this world on May 11, 1962 courtesy of proud parents James and Loa Donelson. The cute always smiling, seemingly innocent, Deedee soon began tormenting her little brother, Robb. Upon reaching elementary school she soon met her lifelong friend, Sue Dau and it was game on and later in life became gambling on! She was a 1980 graduate of Central High School and had already started working at Long John Silvers in Davenport for two years and continued working there almost 39 years until her passing. She has a large Long John Silvers family and she was often called “Mom”. She began her journey with her husband, Vince Vandivier thirty-five years ago and had two wonderful boys, Chris and Travis. Those boys became her entire world. She would never miss a ball game or any activities they were involved in. She married Vince April 8, 1995 in Las Vegas. In 2014 Deedee and Vince purchased the Gardens Tap, Davenport. She loved everyone she met and soon became a part of their lives with her always smiling face and true affection. The list of her friends is very long and very sincere. She was a mom to so many. Deedee loved the St. Louis Cardinals, Iowa Hawkeyes and San Francisco 49ers. She enjoyed watching softball and any team her boys or husband played for. Vince would like to express a special thanks to all the friends and family with us on our final vacation, especially Dan and Lisa who were with us until the very end. Those left cherishing her memory include her loving husband, Vince; children: Christopher “Chris” (Justine) R. Vandivier and Travis James Vandivier; stepson, Thimothy (Crystal) Vandivier; parents, James “Jim” and Marie Donelson; brother Robb (Mary Beth) Donelson; niece, Emilee, step grandchildren: Alliana, Anthony, Aaron, Chelsey and Cienna; lifelong friend, Sue (Dau) Reando, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and cats, Spazz and Mister. She was preceded in death by her mother Loa, grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.
