Delores E. Hayden

Delores E. Hayden, 93, of Davenport passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at First Church of the Nazarene, 1010 Clark Street, Davenport. Visitation is from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Monday, December 26, 2016 at the Runge Mortuary. Private burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Hayden was born July 12, 1923 in Pawnee City, NE, daughter of Alvin (Sr.) and Selma (Genzler) Dooley. On February 23, 1941 she married Merle G. Hayden in Peru, Iowa. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2012. She was formerly employed by First Trust and Saving Bank in Davenport and was a member of Davenport First Church of the Nazarene. Her hobbies included crocheting, scrapbooking and making personalized greeting cards. She won several competitions at the Mississippi Valley Fair. Survivors include children and spouses: Elvin “Jake” (Judy) Hayden, Judy (Bob) Blowers, Harvey (Corlis) Hayden, Phillip (Jill) Hayden and Carolyn (Jon) Boyle; twenty-one grandchildren; forty-nine great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; two sisters and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son, David, her parents and several brothers and sisters.
