

Frederick “Dennis” Fuessel, 77, of Bettendorf, passed away in his home on Friday, April 10, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held at the Runge Mortuary on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the mortuary on Monday, April 13, from 4-7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Scott County Humane Society or to the Friendly House. Dennis was born on April 20, 1937, in Geneva, Illinois, son of Hans and Levora (Augustine) Fuessel. He married Diana Raisbeck on August 4, 1956, in Rock Island, Illinois. The couple had four children. From 1981 to 2010, he was owner of Davenport Electric Contract Company. During his career, Dennis served on various local, regional and national electrical committees and associations. He was President, then Governor of the National Electrical Contractors Association, as well as a distinguished member of the Electrical Academy. Dennis was a very hard-working man, but when he was not on the job, he enjoyed working in his yard, boating, traveling, and playing black jack on the casino boats. His grandchildren were very important to him.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Diana, his children John (Pam) Fuessel, Denise Pfitzenmaier, Scott Fuessel, and Marthalee (Scott) Mooney; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Steve(Terri) Fuessel; sister, Nancy Harvey, numerous nieces and nephews, and his favorite furry “girls”, Izzy and Gabby. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Sandra Hansen.
