Dennis E. Smith

Dennis E. Smith, 65, of Davenport passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017 with his loving wife and step daughter by his side. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Davenport. Dennis was born July 14, 1951 the son of Eugene and Betty (Baumbach) Smith. He was united in marriage to Paula Hampton on September 20, 1997 in Davenport.

Dennis was a semi- truck driver for many years; however, his main passion was farming. He loved his dogs and enjoyed collecting one of a kind watches and collecting coins. He also liked cars, old, new it didn’t matter. Above anything in life he loved all of his children step children, and grandchildren. He was a member of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Davenport.

Those celebrating his life include, his loving wife Paula, mother Betty Smith; sister Connie Geist; brothers Dwight (Carla) Smith, and Keith (Carol) Smith; daughters, Valerie Smith and Melissa Gallant, step-daughter Tera (Eric) Farnum; four grandchildren, Kirsten, Amberly, Dahlen, Chase, and Megan Farnum; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Gene Smith and grandson Connor Smith.
