Dolores T. Johnson

Dolores T. Johnson, 91, of Davenport, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Home in Davenport. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 2:00 pm at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Davenport. Visitation will be Friday, March 19 from 4-7 PM at The Runge Mortuary. Entombment will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the church or the Davenport Good Samaritan Home.

Dolores was born October 17, 1918 in Stockton, IA, the daughter of Herbert and Mabelle (Thede) Moeller. She was united in marriage to Max C. Johnson on August 8, 1941 in Denver, CO; he preceded her in death on January 25, 1983. Dolores attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls and also Augustana College. Dolores taught at Cleona Country School # 7 in Scott County and Plainview School. She also worked at H&K Candy Company and retired from there after 16 years. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church for many years and also taught bible study there. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening, and bird watching.

Those left to honor her memory include her children: Kim (Janet) Johnson, Blue Grass, Kye (Cindy) Johnson, Davenport, sisters; Ardyth Christensen, Walcott, Gwen Moeller, three grandchildren; Kory, Justin, and Tosha, and 3 great grandchildren; Jordan, Colton, and Mason.
