Donnie Ray Roberts

Celebration of Life services for Donnie Ray Roberts will be 12:00 Noon Friday, December 20, 2019 at Greater Faith Baptist Church, 306 West Cedar Street, Davenport, Iowa. Evangelist Mary Jo Harrington will officiate. Visitation will begin at the church at 11 AM. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery, Davenport.

On December 8, 2019, Donnie Ray Roberts departed this life and went to be with the Lord. Donnie was born on May 7th 1954, in Preston, Mississippi, to Elbert and Rosie Roberts. His father, (Elbert), passed away on May 7th, 1984. His mother, (Rosie), lives in Preston, Mississippi. He was the second child born to this union.

Donnie left Mississippi and moved to Davenport, Iowa many years ago. That is where he remained until his passing. Donnie was a person that loved the outside and was a people person. He worked many jobs in his lifetime, but his favorite was scraping iron.

He was preceded in death by his wife Nellie, and his daughter, Jackie Roberts. He leaves to cherish his memories: His mother, Rosie Roberts, brother Nelson Roberts, (4) sisters: Thelma J. Roberts, Pearlean Roberts, Linda Roberts and Patricia Roberts; (3) grandchildren: DaLyric Roberts, Ron Roberts and Rogerick Roberts, as well as great-granddaughter Railynn Roberts. He will be dearly missed by a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and other relatives. And his special friend, Belinda Porter.
