Doris Jeanne Thompson

Doris J. Thompson, 91, of Davenport passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Silvercrest Assisted Living. Visitation will be from 9:00am to 11:00am on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at The Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Graveside services will be following the visitation at Van Buren Cemetery, Preston, IA. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. Doris was born July 7, 1927 to Burr Bruce and Minnie (Stender) Weasmer in Preston, IA. She married John Thompson on November 24, 1955 in Maquoketa, IA. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1994. She is survived by her son, John (Dawn) Thompson, National Harbor, MD; daughters, Patricia (Lyle) Haakenson, Davenport and Penny (Timothy) O’Rourke, Oregon, IL; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; one sister, Laura Brinkman and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother and sister-in-law, James and Joyce Weasmer and brother-in-law, Raymond Brinkman. The family wishes to thank the staff of Silvercrest Assisted Living and Genesis Hospice for their care.
