Dorothy Krone

Dorothy J. Krone, 86, of Bettendorf, died Friday, December 19, 2025, at her home. Mass of Christian burial and funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, December 29, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 1097 18th St., Bettendorf, Iowa. Visitation will be held an hour prior. Burial will be in Ascension Catholic Cemetery, Libertyville, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Café on Vine in Davenport and the Penguin Project of the Quad Cities at Augustana College.

Dorothy was born in 1939 in Mundelein, Illinois, to James and Lillian Erickson. She was a VP of Accounting at Marsh McLennan and retired after a successful 40-year career. She volunteered with many local social justice programs with the most recent work being with Café on Vine in Davenport.

In 1959, Dorothy married Ronald L. Krone. The two spent 27 years together before his death. Dorothy later married Monty P. McClellan in 1991. They spent 26 years together.

Dorothy is survived by her four step-children, Kim Derry of Galesburg, IL, Debi (John) Petrillo of Palm Beach Shores, FL, Sean McClellan of Mt. Vernon, IA and Geoff (Deb) McClellan of Moline; her nephew, Kenneth Erickson of Mundelein, IL; nine grandchildren, Tina and Greg McGraw, Joey, Tori and Jeni Petrillo, Jackson and Grant McClellan and Ben and Lily McClellan; and seven great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her two husbands; her parents; and her siblings, Nancy Repmann and Leland Erickson.
