

Visitation will be Monday from 5-8 pm at the mortuary.
Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors or the American Cancer Society

Dorothy was born September 28, 1910 in Davenport, the daughter of Hugo and Edna (Von Arx) Overhoff. She was united in marriage to Jack Wilbur on December 28, 1938; he preceded her in death on August 18, 1987. She attended Iowa State Teacher’s College and the University of Iowa but received her Bachelor’s Degree from Marycrest College. She proudly celebrated her 100th birthday last September in grand style surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Dorothy was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church in Davenport, a member of the Retired Teachers Association, Putnam Museum and a former den mother for the Cub Scouts and a Regional Director for the Camp Fire Girls, where she received the National Leadership Award in 1962. She enjoyed traveling and painting water colors.
She started teaching in a one-room schoolhouse in Davenport and taught until she retired in 1972.
Those left to honor her memory include her sons: John (Chris) Wilbur, San Diego, CA, Robert (Devera) Wilbur, Fulton, IL, daughter, Dorothy “Dotti” (Evan) Bornholtz, Grand Blanc, MI, 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and her sister, Lucille Still, Lake Bluff, IL.
Her parents, son, Richard, granddaughter, Sara, sister, Ardis Reamy and a brother, Richard preceded her in death.
