Douglas N. Edwards

Douglas N. Edwards, 65, of Davenport passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017 at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus, Davenport. Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements. Douglas Neil Edwards was born August 26, 1952 in Madison, WI, to Walter and Ann (Wood) Edwards. He was a 1972 graduate of Davenport West High School, and continued his education at Muscatine Community College. On July 17, 1976, he married Marcia Putnam in Davenport. Doug worked for the Iowa DOT and later as a custodian for Bettendorf Community Schools until his retirement in 2005. He is survived by his Wife: Marcia Edwards of Davenport; Daughter: Amy Edwards of Davenport; Son: Douglas (Julaine) Edwards, Jr. of Davenport; Sisters: Sondra Tessen of Bettendorf, Nancy (Bruce) Hoehne of Cross Plains, WI; and 2 Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, King’s Harvest Pet Rescue, or the Humility of Mary Shelter.
