Dwayne “Whitey” Robert Timmerman was born December 7, 1927, the son of Herman & Marquerite (Simmons) Timmerman in Davenport. He met his sweetie, Pauline Timmerman (Blocker), in June 1950 and they were united in marriage on September 2, 1950. Together they enjoyed almost 60 years of marriage before Pauline's passing in 2010. Dwayne affectionately obtained his nickname “Whitey” for his signature white hair, which he had from a very young age. Whitey served in the Army during the end of WWII. After his service he was employed by Iowa-Illinois Gas & Electric Co. as a lineman for 42 years until he retired in 1990. He only missed four days of work during that time. Whitey's greatest pleasure was providing for his family. He assisted his sweetie in preparing family dinner every Sunday for all their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, for over 30 years. More often then not, dinner would include something from his garden, which he tended to up until just recently. Whitey also enjoyed playing the keyboard and playing checkers. Whitey is survived by his children Ronald (Donna), Roger (Liz Midey), Rory (Kim), and Randy (Sandra), Renae (Robert) Meyer all of Davenport; Grandchildren Crystal (Zach) Ramaker, Jamie, Josh (Tagan) and Jena Timmerman, Andrew (Nicole) Martin, Emily (Brian) Keag, Alisha Timmerman, Cooper and Lexis Timmerman, Katie (Josh) Corbin, Kyle, Kerry and Kurt Meyer; great grandchildren Miles, Jayden, Jackson, Hallie, Leland, Bryer, Cashlyn, Layne, Brady, Harrison, Presley, Jordan, Carter, Ava, Jolee & Sophia. He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline; oldest son and daughter-in-law, Robert (Christine); parents; sister, Jackie Baker and brother, Richard Timmerman.
