Earl Richard Nelson, 89, of Davenport, formerly of Walcott/Blue Grass, passed away, May 1, 2015, at St. Mary Healthcare & Rehab Center. Graveside services will be held at 10AM, Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Davenport Memorial Park. Online tributes may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.
Earl was born on October 7, 1925 in Boone, Iowa, the son of George and Mable (Peterson) Nelson. He married Dorothy Waterhouse on June 8, 1948. She preceded him in death.
Earl was an animal lover and loved being outdoors, especially spending time fishing. He was a veteran having served during the Korean war and was a member of First Baptist Church, Blue Grass.
Those left to honor his memory include, sister Irene Young; niece Kathie (Sheldon) Johnson; and numerous family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, brother Roy Nelson, and sister Mildred Kneer.
