Funeral services will be 2:30 PM, Monday, March 12, 2012 at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be from 1:30 PM until service time at the mortuary. He was born February 11, 1918 in Davenport, Iowa the son of Ernest and Margaret (Stricker) Stoltenberg. He was united in marriage to Helen Crowder on March 10, 1945 at St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, Davenport. Helen preceded him in death on September 9, 1998.

He served in the Air Corp in Europe during WWII as an aerial engineer. He was employed at Caterpillar for 20 years as a tool setter, retiring in 1978. He was a member of St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 26, U.A.W. Local 215, Quad City Times Plus 60 Club, A.A.R.P., and C.A.S.I. He had volunteered for many years at various nursing homes and C.A.S.I. playing his concertina. He enjoyed boating, fishing, entertaining with this concertina, and riding his BMW motorcycle and Harley Davidson Motorcycle.

Those left to honor his memory are daughter, Shirley (Carl) Johnson, Milan, grandchildren Eric (Shannon) Johnson, and Ingrid (Robert) Scardino, and great granddaughter, Olivia Scardino.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and sister Dorothy Kelley.
