Emma E. Rich-Short

Funeral services for Emma E. Rich-Short will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2010 at the Cunnick-Collins Mortuary chapel in Davenport. Family will greet friends from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service at the mortuary. Interment will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Short passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the Kahl Home for the Aged in Davenport.Emma Elizabeth Lindsay was born in Augusta, IL on May 20, 1929, a daughter of William and Blanche (Travis) Lindsay. On April 5, 1945, she married Christ E. Rich in Davenport, IA. He preceded her in death. Later in life, Emma married Gilbert Short. Emma cherished time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also had a special love for her pets.She is survived by four Daughters: Sandra (Squeek) Jones of Davenport, IA, Kathy (Mike) Howell of Troy, OH, Patti (Bill) Moore of Lancaster, OH, Linda (Brian) Tague of Davenport, IA; four Sons: Larry (Carol) Rich of Davenport, IA, David (Linda) Rich of Moline, IL, Tom (Tammy) Rich of Davenport, IA, Mark (Brenda) Rich of Cambridge, IL; 17 Grandchildren and 19 Great-grandchildren. Emma also had an extended family of step children, step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and loving friends.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters: Mabel, Leona, Josephine, and Lois; two brothers: William and Carl.
