Eric David Bauswell Sr.

He was born on January 11, 1972, in Davenport, Iowa to James and Exie Bauswell.

Eric was a devoted husband and father who cherished spending time with his family. His love for his wife and children was at the center of his life, and he found his greatest joy in the moments they shared together.

Eric earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Iowa, with a minor in Japanese. He was a lifelong learner with a curious and thoughtful mind, enjoying science fiction novels and video games. He was also a passionate sports fan who loved watching football, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago Bears.

Professionally, Eric was an entrepreneur and innovator in the product design industry. He founded and served as CEO of SurfaceInk, a product design firm based in San Jose, California. Following SurfaceInk's acquisition by PwC, Eric joined the firm as a Partner, where he worked to bring new capabilities to the firm.

Eric is survived by his beloved wife, Angela; his children, Rachel, Amber, Samantha, and Eric Jr.; his father, James Bauswell; his twin sister, Erin (Tim); and his brothers, Michael (Barb) and John (Stephanie). He was preceded in death by his mother, Exie.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am Friday, January 23, 2026, at The Runge Mortuary and Crematory, 838 East Kimberly Road, Davenport, Iowa 52807. There will be a gathering after the service from 11:30-1:30 with hors d'oeuvres and lots of story sharing at Crane & Pelican Cafe 127 S.
