Gene was born on April 2, 1967, in Sioux City, Iowa to Henry and Carol (Coors). He served his country in the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany as a 12th engineer battalion specialist. He earned an associate's degree in applied science from Western IowaTechnical College. Gene worked at various businesses as a biomedical engineer for 35 years. He enjoyed maintaining his fishpond, was a Lord of The Rings aficionado, tinkering around the house and rooting for the Green Bay packers.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Kylie Gehl; stepmother, Jenny Gehl; brothers, Mike (Sharon) Gehl and Joe Gehl. He is also survived by his nephews, Charles Gehl and Henry Gehl.
Gene was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents and great-aunt, Helen (Tomi) Hanson.
