Davenport, IA Private family graveside services for Eugene W. Harris, 88, of Davenport, will be held at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. The family would like to invited friends to join them for a luncheon at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Berean Baptist Church, Davenport. Cunnick - Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.Eugene passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2010 at Good Samaritan Care Center, Davenport.Eugene Wallace Harris was born on March 11, 1923 in Davenport, the son of Thomas and Emma (LaMaack) Harris. He married Ella “Marie” Butler on April 7, 1949 in Davenport. She preceded him in death on July 27, 2010. He worked at Eagle Signal for 10 years, then was a grinding inspector for Davenport Machine for 15 years and retired from Frank’s Foundry in the early 1980’s. Eugene enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.Survivors include his sons; Dennis (Chris) Harris, David (Deb) Harris, Darrell (Dawn) Harris, all of Davenport, daughters; Kathleen (Clayton) Harris and Kristine (Donald) Orcutt both of Davenport, 14 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella, sons; Scott and Douglas, sisters, Bernadine Jared, Helen Arnold and brothers; George and Jim Harris.
